John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Center | OK
The reconciliation center in Tulsa, is envisioned to be a “place where people of all races and creeds will come to study, learn, reflect, and reconcile their differences.” The concepts for the center included a series of galleries. The art displayed along these galleries start with imagery of the race riots but progressively move towards optimism in reconciliation, as the galleries themselves wind upwards. A ‘parlor’ fostering an atmosphere of healing and reconciliation through active dialogue, will open outwards to the park. In addition, the center will have archives, interactive multi-media booths, conference spaces and support spaces.
